The Volta Region is poised to experience unprecedented development under the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government’s Big-Push Agenda, according to Del-Bright Kugbeadzor, Special Aide to the Volta Regional Minister. Speaking on the GBC Volta Star Radio morning show with Tony Mark-Boye, Mr. Kugbeadzor emphasized that the government’s comprehensive development plan is designed to address the region’s pressing needs, particularly in the areas of infrastructure, education, and healthcare.
“The Big-Push Agenda is not just a slogan; it’s a commitment to the people of Ghana, and for that matter the Volta Region. The government has budgeted 30 billion Ghana cedis for road construction across the country, which will significantly improve transportation networks and boost economic activity,” he said.
“This project is a comprehensive plan that will address the region’s development challenges and unlock its full potential,” he added.
In addition to the road infrastructure development, the government has allocated another 30 billion cedis to the Ghana Education Service to expand infrastructure and address congestion in the Free Senior High School system. This move is expected to bring an end to the double-track system, providing students with a more conducive learning environment.
“The government is also set to engage some 6,000 teachers who completed school since 2023, providing employment opportunities for the youth and improving the quality of education in the region,” Del-Bright added.
Furthermore, the Mahama Care Project, which puts dialysis patients on the National Health Insurance Scheme, is another initiative that will benefit the Volta Region immensely. This program will provide relief to patients who have been struggling with the cost of dialysis treatment.
Mr. Kugbeadzor emphasized that the NDC government’s focus on the Volta Region is a testament to its commitment to the development of the area.
His comments come against the backdrop of the NDC government’s efforts to accelerate development in the Volta Region. The government’s initiatives are expected to have a positive impact on the region’s economy and improve the lives of its citizens.
As the Volta Region prepares for the next phase of development, Del-Bright’s remarks serve as a beacon of hope for the people of the region. The NDC government’s Big-Push Agenda is invariably a bold step towards transforming the region and improving the lives of its citizens.
