Ege Hails Mahama's Big Push and UN Victory as Game-Changers for Volta Region

Bright Kwashie Ege, Acting Volta Regional Secretary of the NDC, has praised President John Dramani Mahama’s administration for its remarkable achievements in the Volta Region, particularly the Big Push initiative and the UN victory. In an interview with Ewenyigba TV’s Morning Show host Tony Mark-Boye, Ege highlighted the transformative impact of these initiatives on the region.
The Big Push initiative, a $10-billion infrastructure program, aims to address Ghana’s road and development deficits. The project includes the redevelopment of key roads such as Atimpoku-Ho-Denu-Aflao, Agavedzi-Weta-Metrikasa Road, and Kpetoe Town Roads, among others. According to Ege, these projects will improve traffic flow, ease commuting, and boost economic activity across the Volta Region. The initiative is also expected to create jobs and stimulate local economies, bringing much-needed relief to the people of Volta.
Ghana’s recent victory at the UN, securing a historic resolution in support of its bid for reparatory justice, is also expected to attract foreign investment and revenue from heritage tourism. Ege commended Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa for his role in securing the UN resolution. This milestone is a testament to President Mahama’s diplomatic prowess and commitment to promoting African interests on the global stage.
“The Big Push initiative is a testament to President Mahama’s commitment to Ghana’s development and his leadership on the global stage,” said Roads and Transport Minister Kwame Agbodza. “We are confident that these projects will yield positive results for our nation and the African continent,” added Agbodza.
The people of Volta are eagerly awaiting the completion of these projects, which are expected to transform the region’s economy and improve their quality of life. As Ghana continues to make strides on the global stage, the NDC is poised to reap the benefits of these transformative projects.
In the coming months, the government is expected to intensify efforts to complete the Big Push projects, with several groundbreaking ceremonies slated for the Volta Region. The NDC is optimistic that these initiatives will cement President Mahama’s legacy as a champion of Ghana’s development and a leader on the global stage.
