
Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama has officially sworn in veteran actress Kalsoume Sinare Baffoe as the country’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain. The ceremony, held at the Jubilee House, marks a significant milestone in Sinare’s illustrious career, transitioning from screen to diplomacy.
According to #UTVGhana, Sinare’s appointment is part of a broader effort to strengthen Ghana’s diplomatic ties with European nations. Her experience in film, media, and public engagement is expected to enhance cultural exchange and cooperation between Ghana and Spain.
Sinare, a renowned actress with over 50 film credits, brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her new role. Her academic background, including a master’s degree in International Relations and Diplomacy from GIMPA, has equipped her with the necessary skills to navigate the diplomatic landscape.
The appointment has been welcomed by the Ghanaian entertainment industry, with colleagues and friends congratulating Sinare on her new role. Media personality Nana Frimpong Ziga praised Sinare’s qualifications, stating, “I have always said that Kalsoume Sinare qualifies for a ministerial position despite the fact that she’s a creative person”.
Sinare’s swearing-in ceremony was attended by notable figures, including actress Jackie Appiah and husband of Kalsoume, Anthony Baffoe. She is expected to assume her post in Madrid after completing the necessary diplomatic processes.
