Minister Pushes for Stricter Bike, Tricycle Regulations

The Oti Regional Minister, John Kwadwo Gyapong, is calling on the Ghana Police Service to crack down on undocumented motorbikes and tricycles, citing concerns over road safety. The minister’s appeal comes amidst growing concerns about the increasing number of accidents involving these vehicles.

According to Citi Newsroom, the minister emphasized the need for proper documentation to help reduce the rising cases of road accidents and crimes committed using these vehicles. “We need to ensure that all motorbikes and tricycles are properly registered and their owners identified,” he said.

The Oti Regional Minister’s call has been welcomed by road safety advocates, who argue that proper documentation will help reduce the number of accidents and improve overall road safety. The Ghana Police Service has been urged to intensify efforts to enforce the regulations.

The move is also expected to help curb the increasing cases of theft and other crimes committed using undocumented motorbikes and tricycles. The minister’s statement has sparked a renewed debate on the need for stricter regulations on the use of these vehicles.

The Ghana Police Service is expected to step up efforts to enforce the regulations, with the Oti Regional Minister pledging to work closely with the police to ensure the successful implementation of the measures.
