President Trump Speaks with Kids Tracking Santa on Christmas Eve

The phone rings, and it’s the President of the United States! He’s tracking Santa Claus from his living room in Palm Beach, and he’s eager to chat with some excited kids. President Trump took time out of his holiday to speak with children who called NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command) to track Santa’s journey.

One 10-year-old, Jasper from Tulsa, got to speak with the President, who assured him that Santa is a “very good person” and that they’ve made sure no “bad Santa” is infiltrating the US. Trump also told Jasper that Santa loves Oklahoma, just like he does. Another kid, Savannah from North Carolina, asked if Santa gets mad when they don’t leave cookies, and Trump replied that Santa might be disappointed, but not mad.

The President wasn’t the only one participating in the fun. First Lady Melania Trump was also on the line, but she seemed a bit more focused on her conversation, not even looking up when her husband was joking with the kids. Meanwhile, President Trump was having a blast, telling kids about his love for their states and making jokes about Santa’s cherubic figure.

This isn’t a new tradition, though. NORAD has been tracking Santa on Christmas Eve since 1955, and thousands of kids call in every year to ask about his whereabouts. In 2022, volunteers fielded 78,000 calls, and the website had nearly 10 million users.

As for Santa’s journey, he’s been spotted traveling across the globe, delivering presents to kids everywhere. According to NORAD, he’s visited the South Pacific, Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas, and is expected to finish his rounds soon.
