Father Arrested for Alleged Child Sale

 

 

A man, identified as Coffie Agyemang, has been arrested for allegedly attempting to sell his three-year-old son for GH¢1 million. According to GhanaWeb, Agyemang, a resident of Kwamang, was apprehended by the police after discussions with an undercover officer posing as a buyer.

 

The suspect allegedly cited financial hardship as his motive, sparking outrage and concern about child protection and poverty-driven crimes in Ghana. During negotiations, Agyemang reportedly agreed to hand over his son’s remains for burial after vital organs were harvested.

 

The police are investigating the incident to ensure the child’s safety and hold Agyemang accountable. The case has raised questions about desperation and crime in Ghana, with many calling for stricter child protection measures.
