Sefadzi Agama Sets Record Straight on Demolished NPP Office
Sefadzi Agama, Communication Officer of the Ho Central Constituency NDC, has clarified that the demolition of the NPP’s constituency office adjacent to the Ho Sports Stadium was not an arbitrary act. The building had a notice written in bold red paint: “Road, Demolish Immediately, 24/10/25 by H.M.A”.
Agama explained that the Ho Municipal Assembly was working to renovate the Ho Sports Stadium for the Volta Trade and Investment Fair and National Farmers’ Day celebrations, and other buildings including a church were also affected. He argued that the former regional minister Dr. Yaw Archibald Letsa, who occupied the space belonging to the National Sports Authority (NSA)on temporary rental basis was duly notified by the Ho Municipal Assembly and wonders why the former minister could not relay the notice to his party executives. “I suspect it is a sign of deep cracks in the ranks of the NPP in the constituency, he said”. Sefadzi also revealed that his preliminary investigation indicates that there’s long standing indebtedness owing to non-payment of rent over the parcel of land in question. And called for retrieval of the debt from the former tenant.
He welcomed the NPP’s new office and advised them to manage it well.
Earlier, King-David Norgbey, NPP’s Ho Central Organizer, had described the demolition as “unfortunate” and an affront to multi-party democracy and rule of law, claiming the party was given no prior notice. However, Agama countered that the notice was clearly displayed on the building ยน.
The incident has escalated tensions between the two parties, with the NPP calling for an investigation into the matter.
