Lagos Police to Investigate Pastor Chris Okafor Over Sexual Misconduct Allegations

 

 

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to investigate allegations of sexual misconduct against Senior Pastor Chris Okafor of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries.

 

According to the Lagos State Police Command, the directive was issued following widespread attention on social media, triggering public outrage and calls for a formal investigation. Nollywood actress Doris Ogala is among those who have made accusations against the pastor.

 

The allegations, which surfaced through viral videos and social media posts, include accusations of sexual misconduct and abuse of trust. Although no formal charges have been announced, the police have confirmed that the SCID will conduct a thorough investigation.

 

Abimbola Adebisi, a spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command, stated that the police commissioner has instructed the SCID to invite the pastor for investigation, despite no formal complaint being lodged. The police are urging all parties to cooperate fully and cautioning the public against spreading unverified information.

 

The investigation is part of the police’s commitment to ensuring accountability and upholding the rule of law, especially in cases that attract significant public interest. Civil society groups and the public are mounting pressure on authorities to take decisive action.
