Bagbin arrives in Wa ahead of UBIDS school of law 2nd congregation.
The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has arrived in Wa in the Upper West Region ahead of the second congregation ceremony of the School of Law at the University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (UBIDS).
Bagbin, who is expected to serve as the Special Guest of Honour at the ceremony, was received by university officials, traditional authorities, and other dignitaries upon his arrival in the regional capital. His presence underscores his longstanding commitment to the growth of legal education and higher learning in Ghana.
The congregation is expected to bring together graduating law students, members of the legal fraternity, academia, government officials, alumni, parents, and invited guests to celebrate another milestone in the development of the University’s School of Law.
The event marks the institution’s second congregation dedicated to the School of Law, reflecting the steady growth of legal education at UBIDS and its contribution to expanding access to professional legal training in northern Ghana.
Bagbin has consistently championed the development of the University’s law programme, advocating for improved infrastructure and greater support to strengthen legal education in the region. His participation in the ceremony is expected to inspire graduating students as they prepare to pursue professional legal training and careers in the justice sector.
The congregation will also celebrate the academic achievements of the graduating class while highlighting the University’s commitment to producing competent legal professionals equipped to contribute to national development, justice delivery, and the rule of law.
The ceremony is expected to feature the conferment of degrees, addresses by university authorities and distinguished guests, recognition of outstanding graduates, and a call on the new graduates to uphold the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and service to society as they embark on the next phase of their legal journey.
