Edna Abri Promises Women Empowerment For Self Sufficiency Volta

Volta Regional Women Organiser hopeful, Edna Abri, Esq., has outlined a bold vision centered on women empowerment for self-sufficiency as her main goal if elected into office. She disclosed this in a televised interview with Ewenyigba TV’s Tony Mark-Boye on Wednesday, 22nd October, 2026.

According to the legal practitioner, she holds deep respect for all women who have held and built the Regional Women Organiser office before her, but believes the time has come to raise the standard and make the office more responsive, grassroots-driven and economically impactful for NDC women across Volta Region. Her motto is WITH EDNA, EVERY WOMAN MATTERS and she is Number 2 on the ballot box.

Speaking on Ewenyigba TV, Edna Abri, Esq. emphasized that her leadership will move beyond mobilization during elections to sustainable empowerment. “My main goal is Women Empowerment for Self-Sufficiency. If our women are economically self-sufficient through skills training, small business support and sustainable livelihoods, the NDC women’s wing becomes stronger,” she stated.

MY RESULTS DRIVEN AGENDA:
1. Economic Empowerment: Lobby for a dedicated Volta Women Revolving Fund to support women in the informal sector. Organize Financial Literacy Training for Women.

2. Establish Regional Women’s Welfare Desk to cater for the Welfare and Wellbeing of Women.

3. Create Tertiary Institutions Network (TEIN) Women Commissioners (WOCOMs) Constituency Transition Program to link female tertiary graduates to their constituencies to continue their political activities.

4. Institute Young Women in Leadership Training Program.

5. In collaboration with elders, Unify the rank and file of the party. I will be a Mother for All.

The interview on Ewenyigba TV has since sparked positive conversations among women delegates in the Volta Region, with many describing her agenda as practical and inclusive. Political watchers say her focus on the Volta Women Revolving Fund, Financial Literacy Training and Welfare Desk addresses the real challenges facing grassroots women who fund party activities from their own pockets.

Edna Abri, Esq. is among seven women who filed nominations for various portfolios in the Volta NDC Regional Executive elections slated for November 14-15, 2026, after vetting by the Abraham Amaliba-led committee. With the motto WITH EDNA, EVERY WOMAN MATTERS, she has appealed to delegates to vote Number 2 on the ballot box for experience, inclusion and a Women’s Wing that works for all.
