Clean Water Flows in Anyako and Seva After 20-Year Wait

The people of Anyako and Seva in the Volta Region are finally experiencing the joy of accessing clean and safe water, after a two-decade wait. The Anyako-Seva Water Supply Project was commissioned today by James Gunu, Volta Regional Minister, on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama.

According to #VoltaRegionalMinister, the modern water system includes a hybrid solar-powered pumping system, water treatment facilities, and an extensive distribution network, ensuring sustainable water management. The project is expected to improve the health, dignity, and daily lives of the people in the communities.

The Minister expressed gratitude to President Mahama and the Government of Ghana for prioritizing the needs of the communities. He also commended the Community Water and Sanitation Agency, contractors, and traditional authorities for their cooperation and patience throughout the project.

The commissioning of the project marks a significant milestone in the region’s development, with plans to extend household pipe-borne water connections to homes between June and December 2026. The project is a testament to the government’s commitment to improving livelihoods and accelerating development in the Volta Region.

Access to safe water is a basic human right, and today’s commissioning is a step towards ensuring this right is enjoyed by all in the region.
