Experientiality of Faith
“That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)” – 1 John 1:1-2 WEB
Faith isn’t just about believing in something we can’t see; it’s also about experiencing God in tangible ways. The apostle John emphasizes the experiential nature of faith – we see, hear, touch, and experience God’s work in our lives.
Like the disciples who saw Jesus’ miracles and believed, we too can experience God’s anointing and power. Jesus said, “He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also;” (John 14:12 WEB). As we believe in Him, we’ll see God’s power at work in us.
This experientiality of faith strengthens our belief and deepens our relationship with God. Let’s ask God to reveal Himself to us in fresh ways, and to give us eyes to see His work in our lives.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, help me experience Your anointing and power in my life. Give me eyes to see Your work, and a heart to deepen my belief in You. Amen.
