Nana Agradaa’s Prison Sentence Reduced to 1 Year

 

The Amasaman High Court has reduced the 15-year prison sentence imposed on controversial evangelist Nana Agradaa to 12 calendar months, equivalent to one year. According to the1957news, the court described the original sentence as harsh and excessive under the circumstances.

 

The appellate court affirmed Nana Agradaa’s conviction on charges including defrauding by false pretences and charlatanic advertisement, but exercised its discretion to vary the sentence. The revised 12-month custodial term takes effect from the date of the original conviction on July 3, 2025.

 

Nana Agradaa, also known as Patricia Asiedua or Evangelist Mama Pat, was originally sentenced to 15 years with hard labour by an Accra Circuit Court. The reduction in sentence has sparked interest among Ghanaians, with many awaiting further developments.
