Sena Siaw-Boateng Urges Women to Embrace Technology and Leadership

ASORGLI STATE, September 10, 2026 — Former Ghanaian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Sena Siaw-Boateng, has urged women to take an active role in shaping policies and contributing to national development.
She made the call on Thursday during a Women’s Day celebration held as part of this year’s Te Za festival of the Asogli State.
Speaking on the theme, Empowering Women, Expanding Opportunities, Mrs Siaw-Boateng encouraged women, particularly the youth, to acquire technological skills and leverage social media to create opportunities and drive development.
She said women empowerment must transcend cultural display and translate into active participation in education, politics and leadership at the highest levels. Policies alone cannot transform society, she noted, but require the deliberate involvement of people, especially women, to convert ideas into tangible progress.
The former Chief Director at the Ministry of National Security also charged young women to hone their competencies, embrace innovation and position themselves to take advantage of emerging opportunities.
Meanwhile, the Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, Togbe Afede XIV, said the celebration of Women’s Day as part of the annual Te Za festival has come to stay.
Togbe Afede XIV urged women not to be deterred by financial constraints but to identify, nurture and deploy their talents for success. He encouraged them to set ambitious goals and work assiduously towards their attainment.
“Imagine, create, learn and plan for what to achieve,” Togbe Afede XIV said.
He further implored women to demonstrate empathy and humility and cautioned against greed, describing it as a major driver of corruption, while urging collective resolve towards building a more equitable future.
