NLA Rubbishes Allegations Against Director-General

The Management of the National Lottery Authority has vehemently denied allegations that its Director-General, Alhaji Mohammed Abdul-Salam, reduced staff salaries or unlawfully increased his own earnings. In a statement, the NLA described the claims as “baseless and malicious”, aimed at tarnishing the reputation of the institution and its leadership.
According to the NLA, the allegations are part of a deliberate campaign to undermine the Director-General’s efforts to transform the organization. The authority emphasized that all staff salaries and benefits are paid in accordance with approved schemes of service and collective bargaining agreements.
The NLA also clarified that the Director-General’s remuneration is in line with industry standards and has been approved by the relevant authorities. The authority expressed disappointment at the circulation of false information, which it says has the potential to damage the reputation of the NLA and its staff.
The Management of the NLA has assured stakeholders that it will continue to operate with integrity and transparency, and urged the public to disregard the allegations. The authority has also announced its intention to take legal action against those responsible for spreading the false information.
The controversy surrounding the NLA comes at a time when the institution is working to improve its services and contribute to national development.
