Ghana Embassy Issues Urgent Shelter Alert for Qatar

The Embassy of Ghana in Doha has issued an urgent advisory for all Ghanaians in Qatar to take immediate shelter following missile attacks in the region. The embassy’s statement, dated February 28, 2026, confirms that the attack has had a direct impact on Doha, prompting heightened concerns for the safety of residents, particularly foreign nationals.

According to the Ghana Embassy, Ghanaians are urged to remain indoors and avoid any unnecessary movement. “Due to the missile attack and its impact in Doha, please take shelter until further notice, obtain information from official sources,” the embassy stated.

The advisory also warns Ghanaians to stay away from military sites, remain indoors, and avoid crowded areas to minimize exposure to danger. Essential supplies like medication and food should be kept handy.

The US and Israel have reportedly attacked Iran, with President Donald Trump confirming “major combat operations” are underway. The office of Iran’s supreme leader and the presidential office in Tehran were targeted, as well as military sites across the country.

The UK Foreign Office has also issued a similar advisory, urging British nationals in Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates to shelter in place.

The situation is being closely monitored, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
