Mahama Visits Ga Mantse at UGMC after Accident

 

 

President John Mahama paid a courtesy visit to the Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) following the King’s recent accident in the Oti Region. The President’s visit was a gesture of goodwill and solidarity with the Ga traditional leader.

 

According to GhanaWeb, the Ga Mantse was involved in a road accident on February 18, 2026, while returning to Accra from Tamale, where he had been on a private visit at the invitation of the Yaa Naa. The King escaped unhurt but was taken to UGMC for observation.

 

The accident occurred around 2:00 a.m. at Pai-Katanga in the Oti Region, and the Ghana Police Service responded promptly to the scene. The Ga Mantse has since been discharged from the hospital and is recuperating at home.

 

President Mahama’s visit was described as cordial and significant, highlighting the strong ties between the presidency and traditional leaders in Ghana. The visit also underscores the importance of unity and mutual respect among Ghana’s revered institutions.

 

The Ga Mantse’s accident has sparked widespread concern and relief efforts, with many expressing their well-wishes for his speedy recovery. The King’s visit to the Northern Region was aimed at deepening traditional unity and strengthening ties between the Ga and Dagbon kingdoms.
