Ayawaso East MP, Mahama Naser Toure

The Member of Parliament for Ayawaso East, Mahama Naser Toure, has died after a brief illness at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra. He was 60 years old.
According to GhanaWeb, the lawmaker, who was serving his fourth term, held several key positions, including Vice Chairman of the Energy Committee, and was a member of the Roads and Transport Committee, the House Committee, and the Private Members’ Bills and Motions Committee.
Tributes are pouring in from colleagues and constituents, describing him as a dedicated public servant and advocate for development in Ayawaso East. The late MP was a native of Kue in the Nkwanta South District of the Oti Region and had represented Ayawaso East since 2013.
The funeral arrangements are underway, with the burial scheduled for Monday, January 5, 2026, in accordance with Islamic traditions at his residence in Nima, Accra.
