Praises of Mahama’s Govt AI-Generated – Bryan Acheampong

New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful Dr. Bryan Acheampong has downplayed the achievements of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government led by John Dramani Mahama, stating that the praise the government is receiving is largely artificial. Speaking in a viral video clip, Acheampong asserted that the government is being praised for “artificial” measures put in place to restore the economy.

Acheampong, who is also the Member of Parliament for Abetifi, claimed that the economic improvements are a result of the government injecting huge amounts of dollars into the economy from the Bank of Ghana. He warned that when these measures stop working, Ghanaians will start asking tough questions.

The Abetifi legislator argued that the supposed injection from the central bank will cease at a point, and it’s then that the questions will start coming. He emphasized that the fundamentals of the economy must be strong for it to stabilize.

Acheampong’s comments have sparked controversy, with some interpreting it as a sign of the NPP’s desperation to take over power. The NDC has not taken kindly to his remarks, with Deputy National Communications Officer Malik Basintale warning Acheampong against attempts to hold onto power if Mahama wins the 2024 election.

The exchange highlights the intense political rivalry between the NPP and NDC as the country gears up for the 2024 elections. Acheampong’s comments are likely to fuel further debate on the country’s economic situation and the role of politics in it.
