Free Ato Forson from Additional Duty as Defence Minister, Cudjoe

The Founder of the think tank, IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe, has called on former President John Mahama to relieve Dr. Ato Forson of his additional duty as Defence Minister. Cudjoe argues that the added responsibility is too much for Forson, given his other duties as Finance Minister.

Cudjoe’s call comes amidst concerns about the workload and responsibilities of Dr. Forson, who has been serving as both Finance Minister and Defence Minister. The IMANI Africa founder believes that Forson’s dual roles may be compromising his effectiveness in both positions.

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has not yet responded to Cudjoe’s request. However, insiders suggest that the party is likely to review Forson’s responsibilities in the coming days.

Dr. Ato Forson has been serving as Defence Minister since 2013, and his dual roles have been a subject of debate among Ghanaians. Cudjoe’s call is seen as a push for Forson to focus on the Finance Ministry, where he has been driving economic reforms.

The move is also seen as a test of Mahama’s leadership and his commitment to good governance. Ghanaians are watching to see how the former President will respond to Cudjoe’s call.

The NDC has yet to officially comment on the matter, but insiders suggest that a decision is imminent.
