Free SHS Food Suppliers Threaten Demo Over Unpaid Debts

Food suppliers under the Free Senior High School (Free SHS) programme have threatened to stage a five-day peaceful demonstration in Accra over delays in the payment of outstanding debts for food items supplied in 2024.
According to the suppliers, several months after delivering food items to various senior high schools across the country, government has failed to settle the arrears, leaving many of them in financial distress and struggling to repay loans.
They say the planned five-day demonstration in Accra is to draw attention to their plight and to press government to immediately release funds to clear the outstanding debts owed for the 2024 supplies.
