Deputy Volta Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Bright Egeh, has successfully completed vetting to contest the substantive Volta Regional Secretary position. Egeh, who currently serves as Deputy Regional Secretary, is seeking promotion to the top administrative role of the party in the region.

Speaking after his vetting on 15th October, 2026, in Ho, Mr. Egeh said the party’s massive victories in past elections were no accident but the result of hard work and competent administration at the Secretariat. “By dint of hard work, the NDC won past elections massively, and that is a testament to competence,” he stated.

Mr. Egeh, who has served as Deputy Secretary and understands the workings of the Secretariat, said continuity and experience are crucial going into the 2028 elections. He invoked the popular adage of stability in leadership to make his case.

“If it is not broken, don’t fix it,” he declared, urging delegates to maintain a competent team that has already delivered results. He appealed to delegates to elect him as the substantive Volta Regional Secretary to consolidate gains and provide steady, experienced leadership.

According to Mr. Egeh, the Volta Regional Secretariat under his watch as deputy has remained functional and responsive, contributing to the party’s electoral successes. He promised to bring even greater efficiency, discipline and inclusivity if elected as Regional Secretary.

“We have the experience, we have the competence, and we have delivered before. Give me the mandate to do more,” he added. The Volta Regional Secretary position became vacant after James Gunu was appointed Volta Regional Minister, with elections slated for November 14-15, 2026.
