Kpotosu Provides Free Breast Cancer Screening for 1753
Akrofu And Ho Women Benefit, Others In The Offing

A total of 1,573 women in the Ho Central Constituency have benefited from a free breast cancer screening exercise organized as part of activities to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The exercise, held on Thursday, 15th October, 2026, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, took place at two locations – the Forecourt of the Ho Central Market and Akrofu. Out of the total number screened, 1,250 women were screened at the Ho Market forecourt while 323 women were screened at Akrofu.
The health initiative attracted market women, traders, mothers, and young women who trooped to the venues to check their breast health status. Health professionals educated participants on early signs of breast cancer, self-examination techniques, and the importance of early reporting to health facilities.
According to organizers, the screening forms part of sustained efforts by the Member of Parliament for Ho Central, Hon. Richmond Kpotosu, to improve access to preventive healthcare for women in the constituency. Beneficiaries were also counseled and referred for further medical attention where necessary.
Organizers say the Akrofu and Ho Market screening is only the beginning, with similar exercises planned for other communities in Ho Central in the coming days. They urged women not to ignore symptoms and to take advantage of free health opportunities when available.
