Planted Not Buried
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth
alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.” — John 12:24 KJV
You were not buried; you were planted. What looks like burial is actually planting. The enemy
thought he was burying you when he threw you into that pit, that pain, that setback, that shame.
But God was planting you. A seed that is buried never comes back, but a seed that is planted
always comes up with harvest. Your burial was a planting.
When a seed is planted, it is covered with dirt, it is in darkness, it is alone, and it seems like it is
over. But inside that darkness, something is happening. The seed is dying to its old form to
become its new form. God is using the darkness to develop you, the pressure to push you, the
dirt to fertilize you. You are not dying; you are becoming.
Joseph was thrown into a pit, but it was planting for the palace. David was left in the bush with
sheep, but it was planting for the throne. Jesus was put in a grave, but it was planting for
resurrection. If you are faithful in your planting season, you will be fruitful in your harvest season.
“They that sow in tears shall reap in joy” — Psalm 126:5 KJV.
Do not mistake your planting season for punishment. God plants those He wants to grow. He hides those He wants to raise. He covers those He wants to multiply. Stay planted. Stay rooted.
Stay faithful. “Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our
God” — Psalm 92:13 KJV.
We are planted by the Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit who waters our seed and makes us grow. Without
the Spirit, a planted seed dries up. But with the Spirit, even in dry ground, you will flourish. When
you are filled with the Holy Spirit, your planted season becomes powerful — you do not rot, you
grow, you sprout, and you bring forth much fruit.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for planting me and not burying me. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and cause me to grow where You have planted me. Even in darkness, I will grow. Even in pressure, I will bring
forth fruit. My season of harvest is coming. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
