Ho Central MP Offers Free Breast Cancer Screening This Thursday

In Ho Central, our health remains paramount. Let us not wait within our homes until affliction befalls us — let us embrace this opportunity for our own well-being,” says the Ho Central Constituency NDC Member of Parliament, Hon. Richmond Edem Kofi Kpotosu, as his office puts together another free breast screening for women this Pink October.
The office of the MP has announced a FREE BREAST CANCER SCREENING exercise under the theme Early Detection Saves Lives. The screening is scheduled for Thursday, 15th October, 2026 at the Forecourt of Ho Market and Akrofu from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. The initiative targets all mothers, sisters and aunties in the constituency as part of the global Pink October awareness.
Hon. Kpotosu noted that women in Ho Central are the backbone of families and markets, yet many delay medical checks due to cost and time. This exercise, organised by his office in collaboration with health professionals, will provide confidential breast examination, education on self-examination, and referral for further care where needed. He has consistently championed preventive healthcare through free eye, cervical and general health screenings in the past year.
Health workers involved in the upcoming exercise have urged women not to overlook early signs and to take advantage of the free service. According to them, breast cancer remains treatable when detected early, and routine screening is the most effective tool to reduce mortality. The team will also offer counselling and guidance on healthy lifestyle practices.
Residents, especially market women at Ho Market and Akrofu, have been encouraged to turn up in their numbers. The MP’s office says no registration fee is required and all women in the constituency are eligible. For all mothers, sisters and aunties in the constituency, this is a timely call to prioritise health over hesitation this Pink October.
The screening is organised by Hon. Richmond Edem Kofi Kpotosu, Member of Parliament for Ho Central. Venue remains Forecourt of Ho Market & Akrofu on Thursday 15th October 2026, 8:30AM – 5:00PM. Early detection saves lives.
