Their appointments follow the resignation of Dr Bossman Asare, a former Deputy Chairperson in charge of Corporate Affairs, and the attainment of retirement age by Mr Samuel Tettey, a former Deputy Chairperson in charge of Operations. President Mahama noted that the vacancies required experienced and credible professionals to strengthen the Commission’s operations ahead of upcoming electoral activities.

Charging the new appointees, President Mahama urged them to uphold integrity, impartiality and professionalism in the discharge of their duties. He emphasized that the Electoral Commission is a cornerstone of Ghana’s democracy and must remain independent, transparent and accountable to the Ghanaian people without fear or favour.
