Justin Kodua Orders NPP Aspirants Stop Premature Campaigning Now

According to the statement, some members aspiring to contest parliamentary primaries ahead of the 2028 elections have already begun mounting posters, billboards, banners and other branded materials in various constituencies. Others are organizing rallies, meetings with polling station executives and constituency tours to solicit support. The NPP described these activities as a clear violation of its regulations and Code of Conduct.
Justin Kodua Frimpong also cautioned all party officers from polling station, electoral area, constituency, regional and national levels, including TESCON structures, against promoting any parliamentary aspirant on Facebook, X, Instagram or other platforms. Officers are barred from facilitating or enabling such early campaigns. The directive comes days after Dr Mahamudu Bawumia announced a nationwide search for parliamentary candidates to improve NPP’s chances in 2028.
The timetable and guidelines for the parliamentary selection process will be announced in due course, the statement added. For now, all prospective aspirants, their agents and supporters are directed to wait. The order follows Justin Kodua Frimpong’s re-election as General Secretary on 3rd October 2026 at Baba Yara Stadium with 4,486 votes, where he pledged early primaries and stronger grassroots structures.
