Suspended NSA Boss Yaw Ankrah Faces CID Over Visa Scandal

Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, who was suspended recently pending investigations, arrived in a black SUV and walked into the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) building flanked by his lawyer. The case relates to allegations that some officials facilitated fraudulent visa applications for persons claiming to be supporters and officials for the 2026 FIFA World Cup to be hosted in USA, Mexico and Canada.
Ampofo Ankrah has not yet spoken publicly since his suspension, but his legal team says he is cooperating fully with investigators to clear his name. The Ministry of Youth and Sports earlier stated that it is committed to transparency and will allow the Police to conduct thorough investigations without interference.
The Police CID is expected to interrogate Ampofo Ankrah and possibly other officials and private agents linked to the alleged racket. Officials say further details will be communicated after initial questioning, as investigations continue to determine the extent of the alleged fraud and those involved.
