JUST IN: Sarah Adwoa Safo (Esq.), daughter of the late Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, has publicly accepted her brother, Israel Kwadwo Safo, as leader of the Kantanka Family and the Kristo Asafo Church, saying she has “chosen the path of conciliation” following the death of their father. The announcement was made in a statement on Friday, 9th October, 2026.
In the statement, the former Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya said the time had come for the family to “transcend whatever differences, misunderstandings or grievances” that followed the Apostle’s death and “consign them to history.” Of her brother, she said: “He has my full support,” pledging to work together to preserve their father’s legacy.

Adwoa Safo stated: “I have immense love and respect for my brother, Israel Kwadwo Safo, and in the spirit of honouring our father’s wishes, I publicly acknowledge and accept him as the Leader of the Kantanka Family and the Kristo Asafo Church.” Her declaration marks a significant shift toward reconciliation after months of tension following Apostle Safo’s passing in September 2025.
The shift is notable because in June 2026, members of the family had disputed Akofena’s leadership claim and maintained that succession arrangements established by the founder should remain, recognising Adwoa Safo as Head of the Kwadwo Safo Family. Her new position now publicly ends that feud and signals family unity.

Adwoa Safo emphasised that their father’s legacy is a collective inheritance and a shared responsibility. “Our father’s legacy transcends any one individual. It is a collective inheritance and a profound responsibility entrusted to us, as his children,” she added, calling on the Kristo Asafo Church and wider Kantanka family to support the renewed commitment to unity.
The former MP’s statement places emphasis on love, mutual respect and the enduring bonds of family. She said she is prepared and willing to work together with Israel Kwadwo Safo to advance their father’s Vision and Legacy, urging all to move beyond grievances that emerged after Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka’s demise.
