It was with great honour and a profound sense of duty that I participated in the Stakeholder Dialogue on the Implementation of the No-Fees-Stress Policy, Hon. Richmond Edem Kofi Kpotosu has said. The Ho Central Constituency NDC Member of Parliament made the post after engaging with education stakeholders in Accra.

The dialogue was convened by the Honourable Minister for Education and ably organised by the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF), in his capacity as the Member of Parliament for the Ho Central Constituency. The day was exceptionally productive, bringing together distinguished stakeholders, thought leaders, and key actors from across Ghana’s broad educational landscape. The dialogue was chaired and led with remarkable insight by the Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, whose leadership enriched the deliberations.

As a proud member of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Education and a lifelong advocate for equitable and quality education, Kpotosu said he was deeply gratified to have had the opportunity to contribute fully and meaningfully to this crucial national conversation. Our discussions were thorough and purposeful, he noted.

“We critically examined the implementation strategies of the policy, shared practical experiences from the field, and advanced strong, actionable recommendations aimed at improving the programme’s effectiveness, strengthening inter-institutional partnerships, and ensuring that tertiary education financing becomes more inclusive, equitable, sustainable, and responsive to the needs of the Ghanaian student,” the Ho Central MP posted.

This significant engagement is a clear testament to the visionary leadership of His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama, whose unwavering commitment is to ensure accessible and affordable education at every level of our national life, Kpotosu emphasized. The Students Loan Trust Fund remains a central pillar in delivering this noble vision for all eligible tertiary students across the country.

“Together, we are building an education system that leaves no one behind,” the NDC MP for Ho Central concluded. The No-Fees-Stress Policy, a flagship NDC initiative, seeks to remove financial barriers for first-year tertiary students by covering academic fees through SLTF, with stakeholders now fine-tuning implementation to ensure sustainability and equity.
