Iran Ready For Doomsday War After Trump Rejects Plan
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says Iran is prepared for war to resume even if it comes to a doomsday war. He said Tehran remains open to diplomacy despite military readiness. The warning follows rising tensions over the Strait of Hormuz and stalled peace moves.
Araghchi said Iran has not closed the door to talks. He stressed that any negotiation must respect Iranian sovereignty and security interests. He added that forces are fully prepared for rapid escalation if attacked again. The comments mark a sharp hardening of rhetoric from Tehran.
According to Reuters, US President Donald Trump rejected Iran’s proposed seven-day plan to end the war and reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Washington said the proposal lacked credible security guarantees. The rejection has increased fears of renewed strikes and disruption to global oil shipping.
The Strait of Hormuz carries about 20 percent of global oil trade. Any closure would spike energy prices and hit economies like Ghana hard. Analysts say Bank of Ghana MPC watchers are tracking oil price pass-through to inflation and cedi pressures. Maritime insurers have already raised risk premiums for vessels in the Gulf.
Araghchi said diplomacy remains possible if pressure tactics stop. He called for de-escalation but warned Iran will respond with full force if provoked. Trump administration officials insist military deterrence remains on the table until a verifiable deal is reached.
