Kpotosu Ignites Hope With Lifesaving Cancer Screening Drive

Ho Central Member of Parliament Richmond Edem Kofi Kpotosu has sparked widespread commendation after rolling out a free breast and cervical cancer screening intervention that drew impressive participation from women across the Taviefe enclave and beyond.

The exercise, staged at the Taviefe Deme Clinic, witnessed a remarkable turnout as women embraced preventive healthcare under the compelling theme Healthy Woman Strong Community and sub-theme Screen Today Secure Tomorrow. The initiative underscores a firm conviction that no woman should succumb to malignancies that are amenable to early detection and timely clinical management.

According to Hon. Richmond Edem Kofi Kpotosu, early detection remains the most potent weapon against breast and cervical cancers, with screening described as swift, safe and strictly confidential. The legislator emphasized that patronizing such services constitutes an act of responsibility not only to oneself but to family stability and communal resilience.

Gratitude was extended to dedicated health professionals, clinic staff, constituency operatives and volunteers whose diligence ensured the seamless execution of the maiden session. Building on the momentum, the outreach is scheduled to continue at Taviefe Avenya Clinic, with an open invitation to women in Avenya and adjoining communities to avail themselves of the lifesaving opportunity.

The intervention arrives against a backdrop of rising oncological burden among Ghanaian women, where late presentation remains a formidable driver of mortality. By championing accessible, community-centred preventive care, the Ho Central MP is positioning women’s health as a cornerstone for family cohesion and sustainable development, a paradigm that reinforces the nexus between healthy women and stronger communities.
