Quick Resolution

“Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and give no opportunity to the devil.” — Ephesians 4:26-27 ESV

Unresolved issues are open doors. Anger, offense, misunderstandings, and conflict that linger become footholds for the enemy. That is why Scripture calls us to quick resolution — deal with it fast, deal with it biblically, and don’t let it fester. Jesus taught the same urgency: “So if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift” — Matthew 5:23-24 ESV.

Worship and relationships are connected. God values a clean heart more than a long prayer. Quick resolution doesn’t mean quick temper. It means humility, honesty, and forgiveness without
delay. It means going to the person, owning your part, and seeking peace. “If possible, so far as it
depends on you, live peaceably with all” — Romans 12:18 ESV.

Sometimes it means forgiving even when the other person isn’t ready. That releases you and protects your heart. We cannot do this in the flesh. Pride wants to wait. Offense wants to rehearse. We need the Holy Spirit to give us wisdom, courage, and a soft heart. “A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger” — Proverbs 15:1 ESV.

When you are filled with the Spirit, He helps you speak truth with grace and pursue reconciliation instead of retaliation. Don’t let the sun go down on it. Don’t carry it into tomorrow. Resolve it today, and keep the door shut to the devil.

Prayer:
Father, fill me with Your Spirit. Give me a heart that is quick to forgive and quick to make peace. Show me any area where I need to make things right. Help me to speak with grace and act with humility. Let there be no room for the enemy in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
