GIPA Facilitates Partnership to Boost Organic Farming in Ghana

The Ghana Investment Promotion Authority (GIPA) has facilitated discussions between Drapson Farms and Degas Ltd. as part of efforts to strengthen investment partnerships and promote sustainable agricultural development in the country.
The engagement, held under GIPA’s investor aftercare programme, explored opportunities for collaboration in introducing Nutriplant Organic Fertilizer Plus, an initiative aimed at supporting environmentally friendly farming practices while improving agricultural productivity.
The meeting provided a platform for the companies to examine areas of mutual interest, including the promotion of organic farming solutions, product demonstrations, farmer education and capacity-building programmes, as well as the possibility of establishing a local processing plant to enhance production and distribution.
Participants also discussed practical strategies for developing a long-term partnership that could expand access to organic agricultural inputs and support the adoption of sustainable farming practices among Ghanaian farmers.
Beyond the proposed collaboration, the engagement underscored the importance of investor aftercare in strengthening business relationships, facilitating market linkages and creating opportunities for investment-driven growth.
GIPA noted that connecting investors with local businesses remains a key component of its mandate to encourage innovation, improve productivity and attract value-added investments across priority sectors of the economy.
The Authority believes collaborations of this nature can help accelerate the development of Ghana’s agricultural value chain by promoting technology transfer, enhancing local manufacturing capacity and supporting the country’s broader agenda of sustainable agricultural transformation.
If successfully implemented, the partnership is expected to contribute to increased adoption of organic farming practices, create new business opportunities and reinforce efforts to build a more resilient and environmentally sustainable agricultural sector.
