
Nigerian Woman Arrested in Connection with Spintex Robbery
The Ghana Police Service has arrested a Nigerian national, Jennifer Nweke, in connection with a dawn robbery at Spintex in Accra. The robbery, which occurred on September 14, 2025, resulted in the theft of large sums of cash, gold jewelry, and other valuables from a 35-year-old man.
According to the Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), COP Lydia Yaako Donkor, the police received a report of the robbery at around 3:25 a.m. The suspects broke into the house and made off with gold jewelry, a laptop, wristwatches, handbags, clothing, and cash totaling $5,000 and GH¢21,645.
A search conducted at the time of Nweke’s arrest led to the recovery of some of the stolen property, including jewelry, mobile phones, and large sums of cash. The suspect later led investigators to a hideout at Agbogba, where additional stolen items belonging to the complainant were retrieved.
Nweke’s arrest is a result of swift intelligence-led operations by the police. The CID has assured the public that efforts are ongoing to track down other suspects linked to the robbery. The suspects currently in custody, including Nweke, are assisting with investigations and will be put before the courts upon completion of the processes.
The police have also recovered several items believed to have been used or left behind by the suspects, including a machete, a metal cutter, and a T-shirt. The investigation is ongoing, and the police are urging the public to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies to ensure the situation is brought under control ¹.
