Police Step In Amidst Student Violence

The Ghana Police Service has intervened in a violent incident involving students from Swedru School of Business and Obrachire Senior High Technical School. The Director-General of the Criminal Investigation Department, COP Lydia Yaako Donkor, met with the management of the two schools to address the matter.
According to COP Donkor, the meeting was convened in response to concerns arising from the incident, which has attracted public attention. She emphasized the need for calm and cooperation as the Police work to address the matter comprehensively.
During the engagement, management of Swedru School of Business was given 24 hours to produce the students involved in the incident to assist the investigation. COP Donkor stressed that compliance with the directive would facilitate the swift and thorough handling of the case.
The victim of the incident is currently responding to treatment, and investigations have formally commenced to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and to identify all persons connected to it. COP Donkor underscored the seriousness of the violence and its potential consequences for the students involved.
The Ghana Police Service is committed to ensuring accountability, maintaining law and order, and promoting safety within educational institutions, COP Donkor reaffirmed.
The Police Service urges parents and guardians to cooperate with the investigation and cautions students against engaging in violent activities.
