A hospital worker from Hull, UK, has made a profound impact on the lives of 200 children in The Gambia. Tracey Dennison, a senior perioperative support worker at Hull Royal Infirmary, recently returned from a trip to The Gambia where she delivered essential food and gifts to families living in poverty.
According to the NHS Humber Health Partnership, Dennison’s donations included enough sacks of rice to feed the children and an entire village for over a month. Her efforts were made possible by the generosity of her colleagues, who contributed money to help her transport the donations.
Dennison’s selfless work is a tribute to her parents, who spent 25 years helping schoolchildren at Living Word of Faith World Changers in The Gambia. The school, established in 2011, has been a beacon of hope for many children in the community.
“The children were just so excited when they saw I’d brought them colouring books, pens and pencils and other small gifts,” Dennison said, reflecting on her latest trip. Her dedication to the cause is inspiring, and her efforts have brought joy to countless families.
The cost of living crisis has made it challenging for Dennison to continue her philanthropic work, but she’s determined to make a difference. Her story is a testament to the power of kindness and compassion.
