Ghanaian football star Thomas Partey has denied two additional rape charges levelled against him, bringing the total number of complainants to four. According to GhanaWeb, Partey’s lawyer, Jenny Wiltshire, stated that her client continues to deny all allegations and is prepared to prove his innocence in court.
The new charges, authorised by the Crown Prosecution Service, relate to alleged non-recent offences said to have taken place in 2020. Partey is already facing trial for five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault involving three women, which he has pleaded not guilty to.
“Thomas Partey continues to deny all charges against him. He has cooperated with the police throughout. Given there are ongoing legal proceedings, there will be no further comment,” Wiltshire said in a statement.
Partey’s troubles with the law began in February 2022, when an initial report of rape was made against him. The Metropolitan Police investigation led to the charges, with the trial scheduled to begin on November 2, 2026.
The Ghana international, who currently plays for Villarreal, has been granted conditional bail, allowing him to continue playing professionally. However, he must notify police of any international travel and is prohibited from contacting the complainants.
Partey’s next court appearance is scheduled for March 13, 2026, at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.
