Pastor and Accomplices Remanded Over Baby Burial Plot

A dramatic incident has unfolded in Ghana, where a pastor and two others have been remanded by the Bibiani Circuit Court for allegedly attempting to bury a five-month-old baby alive. The suspects, including Richmond Akwasi Frimpong, the head pastor of Anointed Grace Prayer Ministry, were arrested after an eyewitness intervened at a refuse dump in Abofrem, Ashanti Region.

According to #CitiNewsroom, the incident occurred on April 9, 2026, when Frimpong and his accomplices were spotted acting suspiciously with the infant. An eyewitness, Winfred Agbah, raised an alarm, leading to the rescue of the baby, who is currently receiving medical attention.

The Chief Linguist of Abofrem, Nana Yaw Badu, revealed that Frimpong had earlier claimed the child was dead and requested a burial site, but he was unaware the baby was still alive. The police are investigating the incident, and the suspects are expected to reappear in court in two weeks.

The case has sparked concerns about ritual killings in Ghana, with some citing it as a reminder of the need for vigilance and swift justice. The Ghana Police Service has assured the public of its commitment to investigating the matter thoroughly.

The remanded suspects face charges of attempted murder, conspiracy, and abetment of crime. The case has sent shockwaves through the community, with many calling for justice for the infant.
