Police Nab Four Suspects in Ashanti Armed Robbery

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested four suspects in connection with a major armed robbery case in the region. The suspects, Yahaya Seidu, 34, Attah Israel, 32, Victor Gyan, 26, and Stanley Akenren, 30, are currently in police custody assisting with investigations.
According to the police report, the suspects are part of a robbery gang that has been terrorizing residents of Kunsu and surrounding communities. They have admitted to conspiring to rob miners of cash, gold concentrates, and other valuables.
The Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Osei Akoto Arthur, disclosed that the suspects, together with two others who are currently on the run, attacked one Kingsley Asare at a mining site, robbing him of gold, cash, and mobile phones. The incident occurred on December 7, 2025, with the suspects making off with gold worth hundreds of cedis.
The police retrieved two pump-action guns, 22 BB cartridges, five mobile phones, including that of the complainant, and an amount of GH¢5,400 from the suspects. DCOP Arthur stated that the suspects admitted to the offense during interrogation and would be arraigned before court to face the law.
The police command has assured the public of its commitment to ensuring maximum protection and security in the region. The suspects are expected to be brought before the court soon, and the police are working to apprehend the remaining accomplices.
The arrest is part of ongoing efforts by the police to combat crime in the region, and the public is urged to report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
