Prophet Kofi Oduro Slams ‘Political Nonsense’ in Pulpit

Ghanaian prophet Kofi Oduro has urged fellow church leaders to steer clear of using the pulpit for political prophecies, emphasizing the need to focus on preaching the gospel and winning souls for Christ. According to (link unavailable), Oduro made the call while preaching in his church, stressing that politicians often show little regard for God and are not worth the attention.

Oduro’s comments come after a prophecy by Prophet ElBernard about Ken Agyapong winning the 2026 NPP flagbearership failed to materialize. The Alabaster International Ministry founder advised his colleagues to prioritize soul-winning and glorifying Christ instead of engaging in politics.

“Let’s stop helping these politicians. We have the gospel to preach, we have souls to win. Let’s not use the pulpit for political nonsense. We have a Christ to glorify,” Oduro said. He described politicians as often disrespectful, promiscuous, and adulterous, questioning why church leaders should focus on them.

The call has sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some accusing Oduro of hypocrisy, pointing to his past criticisms of the previous government. Others, however, support his stance, urging church leaders to return to preaching the gospel.

According to Ghana News, Oduro’s statement reflects growing concerns about the increasing politicization of the pulpit in Ghana. Many are calling for church leaders to refocus on spiritual matters and leave politics to the politicians.
