Ebo Noah Granted Bail

Ebo Noah Granted Bail, Case Adjourned to March 18

The Adentan Circuit Court has granted Evans Eshun, popularly known as Ebo Noah, bail of GHC 100,000 with two sureties, one of which must be justified with a landed property or a vehicle. The self-styled doomsday prophet was arrested in December 2025 for allegedly spreading false information about an impending flood.

According to Ebo Noah’s lawyer, Emmanuel Sarfo, the court exercised fair discretion in granting bail. “Thankfully, the court has exercised its discretion because discretion must always be fair, reasonable and just,” Sarfo stated.

The prosecution alleges that Ebo Noah published videos on social media claiming the world would be destroyed by a flood on December 25, 2025, and was constructing an ark to save people. The predicted event did not occur, and Ebo Noah reportedly revised his statement, saying his prayers postponed the destruction.

Ebo Noah, a 33-year-old private security guard, was remanded into police custody on January 2, 2026, and ordered to undergo a psychiatric evaluation. The court has adjourned the case to March 18, 2026, for further hearing.

The bail conditions require Ebo Noah to produce two sureties, with one backed by tangible property. Failure to comply could result in bail revocation. The court emphasized that compliance with these conditions is mandatory.
