Internal Elections At 88.7% Success rate- Kodua NPP Successfully Conducts Constituency

Executive Elections in 245 Constituencies, 31 Yet to Be Finalised

The New Patriotic Party NPP, has announced that it successfully conducted constituency executive elections in 245 out of its 276 constituencies nationwide, representing 88.7 per cent completion rate, while electoral processes in the remaining constituencies are yet to be concluded due to disputes and other operational challenges.

According to the party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, the elections were conducted peacefully and successfully across the vast majority of constituencies, reflecting the party’s commitment to strengthening its internal democratic structures ahead of future political activities.

He explained that elections in 23 constituencies were put on hold following various disputes that arose during the electoral process. Though the party did not disclose the specific nature of the disputes, they indicated that the said disputes are being addressed through the appropriate internal mechanisms to ensure fairness and transparency.

In addition, four constituencies—Ningo Prampram, Atwima Mponua, Obuasi West and Trobu—were unable to hold their elections because of last-minute challenges that prevented the exercise from taking place as scheduled.

Mr. Frimpong further disclosed that the National Steering Committee will undertake a comprehensive review of election activities in four constituencies: Afigya Sekyere East, Adansi Asokwa, Bantama and Asante Akyem Central. The review is expected to assess issues that emerged during the elections and determine the appropriate course of action to safeguard the integrity of the party’s internal electoral process.

He assured party members that the National Secretariat remains fully committed to resolving all outstanding matters and ensuring the successful completion of constituency executive elections in every affected constituency.

The General Secretary expressed appreciation to party members, delegates, electoral officials, security personnel and other stakeholders whose commitment, discipline and cooperation contributed to the peaceful conduct of the elections across most parts of the country.

The constituency executive elections is a critical part of the NPP’s internal organisational structure, as newly elected executives will be responsible for coordinating party activities at the constituency level, mobilising grassroots support and preparing the party for upcoming political engagements.

With the majority of constituencies having successfully elected their executives, the party is now expected to focus on resolving the outstanding disputes and logistical challenges to complete the nationwide exercise and consolidate its organisational structures.
