One Year of President Mahama: Resetting, Rebuilding, Renewing
Hon. Dr. Robert Kofi Doh, Prominent Member, Ho Central Constituency NDC
Fellow Ghanaians,
Today, as we mark the first anniversary of President John Dramani Mahama’s ascension to the highest office in the land, I am filled with an overwhelming sense of gratitude and pride. As a dedicated member of the NDC, I extend my heartfelt appreciation to the good people of Ghana for entrusting us with the reins of power.
To the stalwarts of the Ho Central Constituency NDC, I salute your unwavering commitment to the party and its core values of development, probity, and accountability. Your tireless efforts have been the bedrock of our success, and I am honored to be part of this extraordinary team.
The peaceful transition of power from one democratically elected government to another is a hallmark of our multiparty democracy. As we celebrate this milestone, we must acknowledge the dividends of this hard-wearned peace. Ghana’s Constitution enshrines the principles of democratic governance, and we must continue to defend and uphold them.
As a people, we must always stand for truth, equity, and fairness. These are the principles upon which our party is built, and we will not relent in our pursuit of a just and equitable society.
The NDC government, led by President Mahama, has made significant strides in the past year. We have reset the trajectory of our economy, rebuilding infrastructure, revitalizing agriculture, and promoting private sector growth. Our achievements include investing in transformative infrastructure projects, implementing policies to boost agricultural productivity and food security, strengthening social protection programs to support the vulnerable, and promoting transparency and accountability in governance.
With the big-push initiative, we have injected vitality into the economy, stabilized the cedi, and brought inflation down to single digits. This has created a conducive environment for businesses to thrive, opening up job opportunities for our youth and driving economic growth.
As we enter the New Year, I want to assure Ghanaians that we remain committed to our vision of a prosperous, inclusive, and equitable society. We will continue to work tirelessly to address the challenges facing our nation, from poverty to economic and social injustice.
To our youth, I say: the future is bright, and it is yours to shape. We will continue to invest in education, skills training, and job creation to empower you to drive our nation’s progress.
To our fellow citizens, I say: let us stand united in our pursuit of a better Ghana. Let us reject divisive politics and embrace the values of love, compassion, and solidarity.
As we look to the future, I have hope – hope for a brighter tomorrow, hope for a more prosperous Ghana, and hope for a better life for all.
God bless Ghana, and God bless the NDC!
