Tema Motorway Death: Police Corporal Koranteng Appears In Court
General Corporal Robert Koranteng, a police officer linked to the death of 23 year old law student Ivan Baidoo following a police pursuit on the Tema Motorway, has appeared before the Adabraka District Court in Accra. The officer was brought before the court over the fatal incident that sparked public outrage. The case relates to a high speed chase that ended in tragedy.
According to the Ghana Police Service, the Adabraka District Court is handling preliminary proceedings as investigators compile evidence from the Tema Motorway incident. Prosecutors indicated that the docket includes statements from witnesses, pursuit logs and postmortem report. The court has not yet taken plea as investigations continue.
Ivan Baidoo, described as a promising law student, died after the alleged police pursuit on the Tema Motorway linking Accra and Tema.
