Just days after renewed hope emerged over his recovery, Awuche died on Monday, July 27, leaving behind a legacy of resilience that transcended his extraordinary physical stature. According to Rafik Ibrahim, the atmosphere during the visit was one of cautious optimism. Despite enduring serious health challenges, Awuche remained cheerful, hopeful and determined, strengthening the belief among family members, medical staff and supporters that he was on the path to recovery. “Last week, I visited Awuche at the Tamale Teaching Hospital on behalf of Mr. Ibrahim Mahama to check on him and also to offer our full support towards his recovery journey. That optimism, however, was shattered by news of Awuche’s death. “Sadly, the unfortunate has happened, and we have lost a remarkable young man whose story touched many hearts and will not be forgotten.
