Andre Ayew Joins NAC Breda to Fight Relegation

Ghanaian football star Andre Ayew has joined Dutch Eredivisie side NAC Breda on a free transfer until the end of the 2025-26 season. The 36-year-old veteran forward is expected to play a crucial role in helping the club avoid relegation, currently sitting bottom of the table with 13 points from 17 matches.
Ayew, who was without a club since leaving Le Havre in August, has brought a wealth of experience to Breda. With over 120 caps and 24 goals for Ghana, he has played for top clubs like Olympique de Marseille, Swansea City, and West Ham United, scoring over 160 goals in nearly 600 appearances.
NAC Breda’s Technical Director, Peter Maas, expressed confidence in Ayew’s impact, saying, “André is eager to help NAC in their fight for survival. He’s a true sportsman who takes good care of himself, and we believe that with his experience and specific qualities, he can be of real value to the team right now”.
Ayew is thrilled to take on the challenge, stating, “I’m someone who really enjoys challenges, both personally and as part of a team. I want to do everything I can to help the club and my teammates. The mental aspect is perhaps the most important thing in this situation” ² ³.
The Ghanaian international will join head coach Carl Hoefkens’ squad immediately, linking up with fellow Ghanaians Dennis Odoi and Kamal Sowah. Ayew’s experience is expected to boost NAC Breda’s chances of retaining their Eredivisie status.
