Sachet Water Price Hike Takes Effect April 6

The National Association of Sachet and Packaged Water Producers (NASPAWAP) has announced that sachet water will be sold for GH¢15 per bag starting April 6. The new price represents a significant increase for consumers, who are already grappling with the rising cost of living.

According to NASPAWAP, the price hike is necessary due to increasing production costs, including the rising cost of raw materials and transportation. The association emphasized that the new price is a result of careful consideration and consultation with stakeholders.

The price increase is expected to have a significant impact on low-income households, who rely heavily on sachet water as a affordable source of drinking water. Many consumers have expressed dismay at the news, citing the already high cost of living.

“The new price is a bit steep, but we have no choice,” said a market trader. “We need water to survive, so we’ll have to adjust our budgets.”

Sachet water has become a staple in many Ghanaian households, particularly in urban areas where access to clean drinking water is limited. The industry has grown significantly over the years, with many players entering the market.
