  • NDC’s Daniel Nsala Wakpal Leads Kpandai Rerun Polls

The latest poll by Global InfoAnalytics shows the NDC’s Daniel Nsala Wakpal leading in the Kpandai parliamentary election rerun with 50.7% of the votes, reversing an earlier trend that favored his rival, Matthew Nyindam of the NPP, who garnered 48.7%.

The survey, conducted between December 26 and 27, 2025, sampled 1,016 voters with a 99% confidence level and a margin of error of plus or minus 3.9%. This represents a shift from an earlier baseline survey where Nyindam was ahead with 50% voter support, compared to Wakpal’s 46%.

The Supreme Court’s intervention has put the rerun on hold, with a hearing scheduled for January 13, 2026. The court ordered the Electoral Commission to suspend all arrangements for the election, initially set for December 30, 2025.

The Kpandai election has been marred by controversy, with the High Court in Tamale annulling the 2024 parliamentary election results due to widespread irregularities, ordering a rerun within 30 days.

Wakpal’s lead in the latest poll is a significant development, indicating a possible shift in voter sentiment. The NDC candidate’s campaign appears to be gaining momentum, with the outcome hinging on the Supreme Court’s decision in January.

The election’s outcome is crucial for both parties, with the NDC seeking to capitalize on the momentum and the NPP aiming to regain lost ground.
