The Ghana Education Service has opened applications for its 2026 teacher recruitment, inviting qualified graduates to apply for teaching positions across the country. According to the Ghana Education Service, the recruitment drive is aimed at hiring 7,000 teachers to fill vacancies in schools nationwide.

The application window is open from April 10 to April 17, 2026, and interested candidates are required to apply online through the official GES recruitment portal. Eligible applicants must hold a Bachelor of Education degree or a relevant degree with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education, Postgraduate Certificate in Education, or Diploma in Basic Education.

According to Daniel Fenyi, Head of Public Relations at GES, the Service is seeking passionate and dedicated graduates who are willing to accept postings to deprived districts. Successful applicants will be expected to demonstrate strong communication and classroom management skills, and integrate 21st-century technology into their teaching.

The recruitment exercise is part of the government’s efforts to improve teacher availability and enhance quality education delivery nationwide. The GES has emphasized that professionalism and adaptability are key qualities required of all recruits.

Applicants are advised to ensure that all documents, including academic certificates, National Service Certificate, NTC License, Ghana Card, and passport-sized photograph, are accurate and properly uploaded to avoid disqualification.
